Hydrocephalus due to communicating intraventricular hemorrhage
Neonates: 25 mg/kg/24 hr to start, and increase to bid, tid, and qid over 4–7 days.
Glaucoma
Children: 8–30 mg/kg/24 hr PO divided q 6–8 hr or 20–40 mg/kg/24 hr IV divided q 6 hr.
Espilepsy, as adjunct to other drugs in refractory seizures
Children and adults: 8–30 mg/kg/24 hr in 1–4 divided doses (max: 1 g/24 hr).
Edema
Children: 5 mg/kg/24 hr IV or PO.
Adults: 250–375 mg/24 hr IV or PO.
